Esra's Corner...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here's how we are managing to live with a baby in our bedroom...

The view as soon as you walk in.

This is our side...

And this is Esra's corner.

I have her name above her cot with fabric letters from Mama's and Papa's.

A postcard from paperchase inside an Ikea frame.

A hanging heart from Sainsbury's.

I have tried to keep it clean and simple due to the overwhelming amount of baby stuff that I have had to store.

I added a fabric heart to her cot mobile to match the bedding that I made.

It's from the same fabric as the heart garland I have hanging on the headboard.

Here's the bedding I made whilst pregnant...

I have also managed to squeeze in a chair from Ikea which has been a godsend. I'm actually sitting on it right now as I blog. :)

I don't know how long we will be in this flat, but if we are still here after she has turned 1 then I'm thinking to put in some kind of divider either with fabric or a wooden panel, ideas will be appreciated!

I'm also going to do a storage post on how I store baby's things inside the bedroom and living room.

You have managed the space wonderfully! I know people with separate nurseries who don't make as beautiful a job as you have done. You really need to get that baby bedding into production, i want some when i decide to take the plunge!! xx

Sigh, so beautifully and neat put together, mashAllah!

How does Esra sleep, I mean her nightsleep? And how do you make her sleep? I have a 6 months old baby boy (my second), but this fella is so high maintenance, I rock him to sleep, but he is becoming too big for the bouncer..

The thing is my first son is 19 months and I can't leave either babies alone, so I have to make my small one sleep first, because he is more likely to sleep through noises.

Both have bedtime routine and use dummies. I don't know, I am just curious how other mom's handle, because for me this've been kinda stressful (night sleep).

Hope you read my entry till the end, hahah, and hope to hear from you.

@Safiyya - She wakes up roughly every 4 hours, I'm reading lots of books to help me, I don't rock her I didn't want her to get used to that, I feed her around 8/8.30pm then change her, give her the dummy and play music to her and put on a lightshow, she then sometimes wakes up at 12 and sometimes she doesn't and wakes up around 3, then 7ish it's different everyday, I need to get her in a routine!!! I'm feeding her on demand so I'm all over the place, I need to sort it out< agrrrhh! :~) x

Wow I wish I was that talented! Esra's bedding is gorgeous. I had to put Finn in his own room at 4 months, his sleeping was terrible with us, even now if we are away and he has a travel cot in with us he never settles fully. He has to have it silent and pitch black, high maintaince boy!x

really nice decorations! and a creative use of the space. I'm preparing my little one's corner at the moment too. We also have a 1-bedroom flat with a seperate living room and seperate kitchen, but the living room is our office and the TV is in there. I don't want to put up a divider, because there's only a window on one wall! Here in Italy, though, it seems a lot of people don't have the space and keep the baby in the room for over a year... however, I will admit that I dream of a larger, nicer house!

What a great post! I'm really impressed about how you've used the space as I have a small 1 bedroom house and was wondering how it would work once we had a little one. Esra is beautiful too :) You've inspired me to get crafty again with your bedding! x
